Introduction of Department:
Panchayat Raj and Rural Employement is the Head of the Department of District Panchayat Office .The District Panchayat Officer Works and Monitor the Gram Panchayat Level Activites such as Daily Sanitation, Distribution Of Grants to the Gram Panchayats and Inspection of Gram Panchayat Records Periodically.
The Public Elected Representative Sarpanch acts as the President of Gram Panchayat for the period of 5 years from the First meeting Of Gram Panchayat. Through the usage of allocated Budget Grants to the Gram Panchayat, the Development activites in the village are taken up and implemented through the resolutions approved in the Grama Sabha.

The Commissioner Panchayat Raj and Rural Employment, Telangana ( PR&RD Department) with a view to enhance delivery of Information & Services and transform rural citizen has initiated e-Panchayat Citizen Portal.
The project addresses all aspects of Gram Panchayat services with capacity to inform, interact and transact business on internet. The application submission online for Building Plan Permission, Trade License New/Renewal, Property (House) Tax Self Assessment, Property (House/Building) Mutation and Layout Permission are currently being implemented to the rural citizen.
To provide ease of access to information – Know Your Tax Demand, Know your Trade License Tax details and Property (House) Tax Percentage can be viewed. The e-Panchayat project aims to transform the Panchayat Raj Institutions (PRIs) into symbols of modernity, transparency and efficiency.

To strengthen e-Governance in Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs) across the country, Ministry of Panchayati Raj (MoPR) has launched eGramSwaraj, a user friendly web-based portal. eGramSwaraj aims to bring in better transparency in the decentralised planning, progress reporting and work-based accounting.
