Maintenance & Administration of Hostels :-

Introduction:-

  • Pre-Matric & Post-Matric Hostels:-
  • Government of Telangana is implementing Pre-Matric and Post-Matric Hostel Scheme to enable the poor and eligible students to pursue higher studies in the Universities and the institutions regulated by the Government.
  • Pre – Matric Hostels Admissions:
  • There are  (15 ) BC’s Pre Matric Hostels in the District.
  • The admissions into a Pre-Matric Hostel are made on the recommendations of a Hostel Advisory Committee headed by the Hon’ble MLA of the     Assembly Constituency concerned.
  • The admissions are made as per the prescribed Rule of Reservation: BC –75%; SC – 15%; ST – 5%;  Others – 5%. Regarding 

 

Entitlements to Pre-Matric Hostel Boarders:-

  • Every month Cosmetic Charges are paid to the boarders towards purchase of Soaps, Detergents, Oil etc. The rates of Cosmetic Charges are Rs.50/- per month for Boys of all Classes and Rs.55/- for Girls from Class-III to Class-VII and Rs.75/- for Girls from Class-VIII to Class-X. The boys are given Rs.12/-per month per boarder towards Hair Cutting Charges.
  • The boarders admitted into Pre-Matric Hostels are provided with free boarding and lodging. Further, four pairs of Uniforms, One set of bedding material comprising Bed Sheets and Carpet, Note Books, Nationalized Text Books, Study material etc., are provided to the boarders every year. In addition, Plate and Glass and Trunk Box are provided once in five years.
  • Study hours maintained by HWOs with the help of Tutors for achieving good results.
  • Activities in the Hostels:
  • Increase the access to Education and improve the career prospects.
  • Eradicate poverty through economic support schemes.
  • Reduce social inequalities and promote Social Cohesion (unity).

Diet & Cosmetic Charges paid to Prematric Students :-

The Diet Charges provided by the Government are Rs.950/- per month per boarder for Classes III to VII and Rs.1050/- per month per boarder for Classes from VIII to X.

Special Coaching to SSC Boarders :-

In addition to the above, the Special coaching is being conducted for the students studying in  Xth Classes by engaging (4) Tutors in each hostel in the subjects of  English, Maths,  Science and Hindi  commencing from  August to March every year, on payment of honorarium @ Rs.1500/- PM per Tutor. Study materials like work books and Graf books are supplied to achieve better results.

College Hostels for Boys and Girls :-

 

The Government have sanctioned (02) BC College Girls Hostels and (03) BC College Boys Hostels in Nirmal Dist. All are (05) Hostels functioning in Private Rented Buildings. The HWOs have been selected to the Dist. Selection Committee and field up.  Regarding Class IV Employees i.e. Kamati, Cook and Watchmen have also been engaged through Outsourcing from approved Agencies through the Dist. selection Committee to work in all (05) Post-matric Hostels.

 

             The  admission are made as per the prescribed Rule of Reservation :

BC – 75%, SC – 15%, ST – 5%, Others(EBC Orphans) – 5%.

  • Post Matric Scholarships, Reimbursement of Tuition Fee to BC Students and Reimbursement of Tuition Fee to EBC Students:

Sanction of Post Matric Scholarships, Reimbursement of Tuition Fee to BCs and Reimbursement of Tuition Fee to EBC from Intermediate to PG courses though ePASS website.

 

  • Pre Matric Scholarships:-

 

Sanction of Pre-Matric Scholarships to the students from 5th standard to 10th standard to all the students as per  parental income though ePASS website.

 

  • Mahatma Jyothiba Phule Overseas Scholarship Scheme:-

Government of Telangana is implementing a prestigious programme called “Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Overseas Vidya Nidhi Financial assistance for the benefit of poor BC & EBC students for higher education in foreign universities. “Mahatma Jyothiba Phule BC Overseas Vidya Nidhi” will be initially sanctioned to BC Students every year and is open to all eligible graduates to pursue Post Graduate studies abroad. He/She should have a valid TOEFL/IELTS and GRE/GMAT scores with a age limit of less than (35) years and family income shall be less than Rs.5.00 lakhs per annum from all sources.

Incentive Cash Award to Inter Caste Married Couples:-

An amount of Rs.10000/- is being sanctioned to the inter caste married couples, if either spouse belongs to BC community or Inter sub-caste marriage among the B.Cs. from 2008 vide G.O. Ms. No. 46, BCW (B2) Department, Dt. 08.08.2008.

Kalyana Lakshmi Scheme :-

The Government of Telangana have introduced “Kalyana Lakshmi” Scheme for financial assistance of Rs.1,00,116/- to each unmarried girl belonging to Socially and Economically Backward Classes at time of marriage residing in Telangana State. This scheme will be monitoring by the RDOs Revenue Department.

Implementation of Financial Assistant [BC Corporation] 2023-24:-

The Government of Telangana has implementation of Financial Assistant for all Backward Classes Artisans/ Vocational Communities an amount of Rs. 1,00,000 /- (Rupees One Lakh only) for each beneficiary, the grant will be given to one for one family.

Free Electricity Scheme:-

 

            The Government has providing of Free Electricity Supply up to 250 units per Month to the Hair Cutting Saloons, Laundries and Dhobi Ghats in the State which is run by the Nayee Brahmin and Rajaka Communities. In this scheme (939) beneficiaries registered in Landry Shops and (664) Beneficiaries registered under Hair cutting Saloons in Nirmal district with effect from 1st April-2021.  

BC Study Center :-

The Principal Secretary to Govt.,BCWD & President, TSBCESDTC, Hyderabad has sanction the BC study center at TS BC Residential school, Nirmal for conducting free coaching programmes to BC Student for Group –I, Sub-Inspector of Police and Police Constables.
